Morning Gratitude: Three Things I am Grateful For
This morning my heart is filled with gratitude and other things but I’ll let the gratitude prevail.
1. I am Grateful for Kindred Spirits
I am thankful for the people with grit, resilience, compassion, and integrity. These are the people when in a crisis, look at the bigger picture. They think “we” instead of “me.” They make the best of any situation and do the right thing (even when no one is watching).
2. I am Grateful For the Rescue Teams
I still can’t get the desperate cries of people calling for help. Most of these cries were people more worried about others. I wish people understood how many people were really in dire need of help. I was disgusted and pretty angry with people that complained about the first responders or volunteers. Hello — these are human beings doing extraordinary things. Thank you to all the people tirelessly working to save Hurricane Harvey victims.
3. I am Grateful for Life
I cannot imagine sitting on top of roof surrounded by water with not a soul in sight. If your life is the only thing that is salvaged in this hurricane, you are more than blessed. Things can be replaced. I am grateful many people were rescued including my sister, brother-in-law and my sweet nephew.
As always, gratitude improves your attitude and increases your blessings.

Three Reasons Why I am Glad My Siblings Are Friend-Zoned - Daley Word

[…] I did go back for my siblings as soon as I was an adult — at 48, I can see that I was still a child. I am sure you can imagine what a roller coaster ride that was. We have survived hard times, arguments, and estrangement — that makes our friendship that much sweeter. You are not guaranteed a friendship with your sibling but if you are friends, the friendship is grounded with love and loyalty. […]
