Birds of a feather flock together. I am grateful I found my flock. Yesterday I attended my friend, Stephanie’s 50th birthday. As life would have it, her precious 4-legged baby, SunMe passed away. That night, Stephanie stayed in the moment. Though her heart was heavy, she had a great time and she made sure everyone else did too.
Birds of my Flock are Resilient
When something happens, the birds of my feather feel it; however, they are resilient. Our gene pool has an automatic timer that does not allow us to wallow. We don’t suppress our feelings (and if we do, it is not for long), we continue living. When life gives us a mean sucker punch, we may retreat for a minute. Still, the rest of our flock will not let us stay down too long.
Birds of my Flock are Real
The flock I “roll” with are real! They need to know who I am and I need to know them. Authenticity is very important quality in our flock — so that means our “crazy” come out at times. It usually means we are in the uncomfortable part of our spiritual growth. We share the same core values but we are very different many ways. Our flock is resourceful because of those differences, not in spite of them.

Birds of my Flock are Raw
Vulnerable = Raw. We peel the skin back and reveal our soul. We know that not everyone needs to see our vulnerabilities, but we know openness is a must within the flock.
Birds in my flock do not look “the same” to the naked eye — but believe me, we are of the same feather.
