It’s the little things that bring the joy that fills my day. It is things like a puppy’s personality bubbling up or an expression on someone’s face that brings me joy. I am thankful for the little things that make my soul happy!
A Rude Puppy Paw Swipe Makes Me Giggle Inside
My two puppies, Marley and Shiloh, are at right in the middle of their rude and naughty stage. No matter how cute their antics are, I correct it with a stern voice. They have this thing, they do — swiping me with their paw when I tell them no. While the tone of my voice let them know that mommy is not happy, I am glad they can’t hear my soul giggle! It would certainly give them the signal to continue the behavior.
Husband’s Expression When Wife Does a Suggestive Back Slide
My husband was working from home and was on a conference call. I decided to entertain him while he was on the call. As I listened to music, I rested my back on one of the living room columns and slid down slowly while giving him a suggestive look. The dirty face and wild hair character to my performance. His facial expression made my day — even if I was the butt of the joke.

“I’m bored.” That was the broken record I listened to while the Internet was down. Isn’t it incredible that kids think that we are here to make sure they have constant activity and entertainment? Each time she complained about boredom, I suggested she help me clean. She would give me a blank stare and then vanish. Her facial expression was cute and funny at the same time. The fact that my suggestion stopped the “I’m bored” record for a little while was icing on the cake.
I guess this is why I smile so much. I have all these little things that I think of when I allow my mind to just wonder. So what, if you are not happy all the time. You don’t have to be. However, the little things that bring the joy that allow you to have a reservoir of happiness for the bad days!
