Morning Gratitude: Laser Focus Helped me Achieve Results
I’m thankful I experienced (forced) laser focus. Our Internet was Irmaded (yes she is now a verb) on Monday and is still down. Soon, everyone in our home started showing withdrawal signs. Anything I wanted to work on needed an internet connection. So, I decided to focus on decluttering and organizing my home. Because I had no Internet distractions:
- My productivity increased.
- I got more work done.
- I felt accomplished.
Laser Focus Increases Productivity
Multitasking cost you 40% in productivity and it drains the brain. Wearing ‘blinders’ increased my efficiency. I impressed my hardest critic — me! I felt like the old Jowanna!
Laser Focus Increases Progress
Online distractions make you more impulsive. It has probably the reason I’ve had some not so smart posts in the past. I turned on my music, sung and danced my ass off while I worked. My body paid for it, but my progress was worth the price!
Laser Focus Gets Me High
I am a result-driven junkie. I imagine the feeling I get when I complete, I get the same high as a drug user. Over commitment clutter my view and progress. “You are doing too much, Jowanna!” Yep, that’s my therapist in my head.
We all know that doing too much means nothing gets done. I had to shut my Facebook down to get my morning gratitude blog done. I found myself checking Facebook without even realizing what I was doing! Now off I go to chase another high!
Remember, gratitude improves your attitude and increases your blessings!
