Morning Gratitude: Why I am Grateful for Partners
Yesterday, I spent a lot of time with my friend, discussing my new role as a partner in an endeavor. I am thankful that God has put some wonderful people in my path. I am even more grateful I am aware enough to see my life purpose unfold in every aspect of my life with the right partnerships.
1. I am Thankful for Great Business Partners
My vision for Daley Word is:
Spiritually connected people working individually and collectively to make the world a better place.
My vision for Daley Consulting is
A nation of sustainable businesses run by business owners and skilled professionals that offer products and services that are just as rewarding to their clients and the communities they are in as they are to their capital gains.
I have worked over the years to make this vision happen. This year I stopped trying to lay out the steps and just let my day-to-day actions push me toward the vision. The things I said “never” to are just the things that are bringing the vision into reality. God has put women in my path that want to use their skills to make a difference in the community. Of course, God is my best business partner and he has blessed me with other God-led professionals as well.
2. I am Thankful for Great Home Partners
I am not a great 8th-grade mommy. I think I’ve said that before. My sister hates when I say that. She and I are partners when it comes to her daughter. Now, my nephew, Kevin is visiting and automatically became a tutor and a coach to his 13-year-old cousin. He also assists with cooking and IT projects while working on his dream. He, my son, Jordan and my niece, Yasina are a great help in other areas as well. Having two pit pups is not easy. Along with the two pups, we have two other 4-legged family members.
My son helps with the morning and evening shifts with the pups. Although it is a chore to take care of pups, he does it with what’s best for them in mind. For instance, when they wake up early on weekends, he not only lets them out, to potty, he also will give them time to stretch their legs. Yasina allows Jada and Khloe to sleep with her. She also has let’s me know if one of the dogs do something out of the norm.
Lastly, Kevin helps with the dogs and just yesterday, he cooked some fabulous vegetarian burritos. While he does not eat meat, he also took the time to make some with turkey, even when we were fine with the bean burritos. It also goes without saying, Rob, my husband is my awesome front-line partner. How many people you know would say two 20-something men and a hubby made great home partners?
3. I am Grateful for Great Social Partners
Social media has its downfall, but for me, it has one key benefit — partnerships. It has helped me find my daughter, niece and a nephew. Whether I need a prayer or someone I know needs uplifting, they are there to take part. Hurricane Harvey led to a tighter bond. State lines did not stop friends and families from helping each other. Some scoff at social media, I embrace the good it can bring — And for that, I am grateful.
Those that want to hike life’s trail alone, good luck. Yes, I have had some bad partnerships — but even then, I learned good lessons. I thank God for the spirit of partnership and the humility to know that everyone needs someone.
