Morning Gratitude 149-2018: Surrendering
After a pretty intense week, I planned on getting “on top of things” by starting the next stretch of projects right away. So yesterday, I was ready to go – so I thought. My body and mind gave me a big “Oh hell NO.” I tried to fight it but then I succumbed to it. I surrendered.
My gratitude
I am thankful that I have learned to know when to surrender. Lupus gradually took a lot of my outdoor activities away. So when I started finding alternate ways to work, I thought, “This shouldn’t be too bad.” I learned that intense brain work is also exhausting. As I continue to realize the value I bring to people’s lives, I continue to see how important it is for me to put myself first. “Me first” means I don’t compromise my time with God nor do I ignore what my body is telling me.
Daily gratitude heightens my awareness which is a gift that keeps on giving.
Listen to your body — it’s the only friend that will be with you for a lifetime … oh yeah, be grateful!
