Why I am Grateful for my Family
GM foot soldiers! I am sitting in bed wondering what I would write about. God has blessed me beyond measure. I spent my snow weekend snuggled in bed with my laptop, my fur babies and sometimes my husband (with a hug or two from my daughter). As I reflect on not only this past weekend but the holiday as well, my heart warms with gratitude. As you know, I believe in being specific when I express gratitude. No matter how tough things seem to appear, God still bless me with abundance. My family:
- makes my morning easier
- makes holidays more festive
- fills my heart with laughter
I get to Ease Into my Mornings
My autoimmune challenges makes mornings tough – I usually forget how tough it is (unless my husband is out of town). Rob, my husband, makes my mornings as seamless as possible. He leads the morning routines that helps me get going. It is such a steady routine that I realize how much I would struggle without him when I travel alone or when he’s out of town.
The Holidays are Joyful
There was a paradigm shift this Christmas. My oldest son led the Christmas efforts this holiday. He managed the list, ensured everyone helped pay for the dinner and helped cook! Everyone helped with cleanup and also helped make it fun! While they did not say it, it was obvious they wanted to make things more relaxing for Rob and I. Thankfully, they did!
I am Rich With Love and Laughter
For a good portion of my childhood, I dreaded going (to wherever) I called “home.” The thought of home usually made me either terrified or sad. If there is one thing we do the most during family time is laugh. I love that my adult children look forward to coming home during the holidays. I am thankful that their home experience brings more joy than regret!
Everyday there are more blessings than challenges – even on a Monday. They often are buried in the everyday things that you don’t notice until it’s gone. Don’t let that happen to you. There is scientific proof that gratitude improves your attitude and increases your blessings. My gratitude for my family grows with each passing day. GM everyone! Share your blessings with me!
