Gratitude Monday – I am thankful my daughter was found safe
GM foot soldiers! Things were so hectic last Monday that I did not get to write my gratitude blog. Though I did not write the blog, my heart was full of gratitude that day. It has been an eventful start to 2016 for my family and me. My daughter was found safe last week. I am thankful to God for her safe return and all the foot soldiers that helped us get her home safe.
A few days before she was found, my hope tank was running on fumes. The Thursday before she was found, the pain of not knowing where she was just kicked me in the gut. I sobbed as I was on conference calls for work. The heartache was so intense that it caused me to be in physical pain. I made a video to plea for help to find my daughter. The next day I did not engage in social media or with anyone really. Then I got a call from one of my Mary Kay sisters, Meagan. She told me to go one of the local news station’s Facebook page. There was a message on the page from a representative from CFSI (a non-profit agency that helps find missing children) saying they would help us find our daughter.
She was found in two days. The call was surreal. The detective on the case called me. My daughter was found a few towns over at a local Wal-mart. The call was just as surreal as the day my daughter slipped from our grips weeks before.
I am so thankful for Pastor Dave leading a prayer vigil the week before. I am thankful that my dear friend, Karol knew just what to send me when I needed tools to keep going. I am grateful that Meagan did what she had to do to contact me. I am thankful for Richelle praying with me as I just cried Thursday night. There are so many that I helped my family and me through this ordeal. I would be listing names for days. The amount of gratitude that I have cannot be dampened — even on a Monday.
While our family have plenty of work to do, I am thankful that my baby is safe (even if she does not like me very much right now). Even when you’re feeling the lowest, remember that God’s blessings exceeds your troubles. Gratitude will improve your attitude and increase your blessings. GM everyone!
