Gratitude Monday: I am thankful I am learning to ride the wave of life

GM foot soldiers! Life has been so eventful — nothing new right? There aren’t many times where I felt like a victim of life. I do recall thinking that life was something I had to overcome. I was and still am a self-improvement girl. Although I did not realize it, I was trying to achieve being the gal that made all the right decisions, reacted appropriately and was prepared for everything. If you asked me if I was a perfectionist I would deny it.
Over the past several years I have been learning to ride the wave called life. It has been a rewarding experience. Becoming one with my life has allowed me to stay grounded and present. It has helped me make better decisions including knowing when to ride a wave or to sit one out. I am grateful to know that life does not happen to me or at me. It does not mean that I am exempt from the unpleasantness of life — I am just not a victim of it.
I thank God that I am spending more time on the surfboard than off of it. I am more balanced during the tough wave and even when things get real rough, I remember that my growth and blessings also happen during those times. I am so thankful that I have the courage to actively life surf — even on a Monday.
Through the good and bad times, remember that gratitude improves your attitude and increases your blessings. GM everyone!
