Write Your Story in 2014
So what are you waiting on? You were going to go to school, but you lost your job. You want to go on vacation, but your mom fell ill. You wanted to change your job, but you are getting a divorce. You feel as if you can’t win for losing. Will it ever stop?!
Does it Ever Stop?
That “it” is what you call life being unfair to you or never getting a break. I have good news and bad news. It does not stop. That is the good and bad news. Now you can quit thinking life is targeting you. Life would suck if the universe had a target on your back. Now you can relax — the universe is not against you — no single person is THAT important.
I have yet to see the perfect time to start working towards something meaningful in my life. I am talking about that “thing” that you feel you are destined to accomplish. Perhaps you prayed and wonder why God is not answering your prayers. You have to remember you need to put some elbow grease behind your effort — even when you are going through a rough time. Unfortunately life will always have some challenges.
Make Life Happen
Is life happening to you or are you making life happen? Whether you accept that you are responsible for your life does not change that you are responsible for your life. There is a lesson in every experience and there is also something to gain (or lose) when that experience is over. It is totally up to you. Things happen that are not in your control but what you choose to do with it is totally in your control.
Become an author in 2014. Think of what you want your outcome to be after an experience. Imagine that you meet someone who is about to jump to his death. Will your last experience encourage him to give life a chance or will he want to jump?
Three Things You Can Do to Determine How Your Story Will End
- Find a lesson in both your good times and bad times
- Think about your life as a story
- Make both your good times and bad times worth it
Own it in 2014
I’ve heard comments like “but you have a husband” or “you have not been through what I’ve been through.” There is no one who can carry your burden — not your mother, not your father and not your spouse. Furthermore, if you are looking for support, minimizing someone else’s challenges or life is not the way to do it.
So what are you going to do? More than likely, you have a story taking place right now. Life has written the beginning. Now it is up to you to roll up your sleeves, get your pen out and write that ending!
Happy New Year!
